Final week 8

This is my final week....happy!! but i know when im totally done..i will miss it... :( before i get emotional...let me tell u what i have been doing this week.
On Wednesday, Pn. Norliza from KPTM came to visit me in my company. I was asked to complete a survey form as I applied for industrial training in this company through KPTM. Her visitation was very important and knowledgeable as she told me the different steps and courses that could help me once I graduated. Thanks KPTM!
Here comes the emo part =P I would like to thank En.Kamarul (my supervisor), Melville (my trainer) and the other staffs Kenneth, Farid, Azzmal, Rizz, Mike and all trainee..they have been great through out these two months..they have been guiding me with knowledge and most importantly patience. :) Thanks so much for everything!!!!!

Week 6 and 7

This was my first week back from break(public holiday). I won't lie, it was rather difficult to go from a week of total relaxation and siestas to having to working eight hours a day and waking up before 530 AM. Luckily I love my internship and the people there, making the transition much easier.

I was in the office alone until about 9 AM making a checklist to my supervisor. Too bored because some of my teammates have to go to GHR ( Genting Highland ) a week. After i send the checklist to my supervisor, he give me task that have to enter in data center to marking, counting and make checklist all hardware item in the data center for disposal. My company will make a checklist for disposal item every December to dispose all item. It take 2 week to marking, counting and make a checklist with this task..

I and my another trainee responsible to handle this task settle before my last day internship. Item that should counting in data center to dispose are monitor, cpu, keyboard, printer, sata cable, hard disk, RAM, dvd drive, cd rom and also laptop. Hard disk, Ram, dvd drive and cd rom must be separated from the cpu. Its very difficult to me as a girl that have to pick up the cpu, open the cpu to take all item in the cpu. All cpu to heavy to bring. For your information, cpu in data center almost over than 1000, counting the Ram that over than 1300 pieces, Its very2 take time to handle this task.

After settle marking and counting the item, i responsible to make a checklist for this task that have send to my manager for approval.

In data center, i also do another task that have to arrangement the data center tape to keep safety. Data center tape have over than 10000 tapes to arrange. With different color and number of tape make my work easier. =)

Week 5

Done already 1month in eGenting Sdn Bhd. Feel like just yesterday enter in this company..

There's not too much new things to write about. In this week i have been only working on delivering the all unit pc and laptop last week i have been setup to the user and configure Outlook for them..I also make a checklist for this task to submit for my supervisor approve..

I think I'm kind of slow yet, but I'm getting faster every day :). I have learned so many things, and I have to say I'm so glad about having this summer to learn so many things.

Week 4

It's hard to believe that this week is already over. So much happens in the span of one week that time is flying by around me. I still feel as though I have just arrived, and yet I have been here over a month. It's hard to keep up with myself.

After my supervisor believe me to handle the case, he leave me to do my own way. Now i can do by my self to handle case. I as IT technical support officer will maintain and monitor the computer systems and network of my company. I may install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and application problems, either over the phone or in person. The case depending on the user, if the case about application faults, i can remote user computer to find out the problem but if the problem is about hardware which is printer or hardware problem, i can meet with user personally at their area. Beside that, i also make a check list for all form in technical support such as checklist installation form, disposal form, loan unit form and so on. Every single week, i will submit the latest updated checking list to my supervisor.

For this week, i have to setup 7 unit pc and 3 unit laptop to the user. Its take around 4 days to setup the all pc with installation all standard software and special software that user needed. After i done setup the pc with installation, i have to make a checklist installation form that have submit to my supervisor approve before delivering the pc to the user. After make a approval form my supervisor i have to make a call confirmation for delivering to the user. On the call i'll take the user detail which is the full name of user, department, floor and set time for delivering.

Week 3

My supervisor gave me a briefing on what i will be working on in using Remedy Support...it sounded very very interesting...my department actually is technical support which u hear...

example: when user log case, we as technical support will help the user to get the solution on the problem come out.

seems familiar?? thats wat my department does...we are solution for the problem come out... :)

after listening to the briefing..im really excited to use this software..i were given a demo account to try out...its could check the latest and the old case in the Remedy Support, have own profile, can assign name on the case and log case on this system..its like our user dun need come and call out my office to log case their problem..jus work online from their place..hehe...i were given a whole day to try out the service n get to know the various special functions....





Week 2

8.11.2010 (Monday)

Today i have interview at Putrajaya this the morning. after the interview i go to the office. For today i take half day working. I already send message to my supervisor and also my trainer about the half day leave for today. When im back to my office i got 1 case from my teammates. The case is changing the old cpu to new cpu. Before change to new cpu, must checking the backup file and the software user use to setup in new cpu. Bring back the cpu to IT department and setup the all software. I do this case with my teammates. He teaches me how to handle this case, so after this i know to handle case seem like this.

9.11.2010 ( Tuesday)

At the morning, i got 2 case with my trainer (Mr.Melville).

Case 1: User cannot enter the window..

Solution on this case is format the pc.it because when user insert thier user name and password then press OK, the monitor show error message and something goes lose from the pc. it about the virus attack the pc.

case 2: Cannot edit using powerpoint..

user upload the file from the email using microsoft office 2007 but the sender of the file using the microsoft office 2003..that mean file cannot open because sender not save in Microsoft office (MO) 2000-2007. the solution on this case is sender must save first in MO 2000-2007 to read the file properly.

10.11.2010 (Wednesday)

My supervisor give me 1 case that i have to setup the new desktop (leasing program). this is my 1st case that i have doing by my self under my name but my trainer with me to help how to do for this case. With this case i need to install all standard software and special software that user use. standard software is antivirus, flash, and so on.special software is microsoft office and another software for their uses.why special software because special software must purchase by the user,standard user is the normally software in pc. From this case, my trainer teach me how to setup new pc with installing all software are needed. Done with installation, i and my teammate could send the pc to the user. the user want we as technical support backup her file and tranfer to the new pc. especially, tranfer data from Outlook mail and configure outlook in new pc.

The whole week, i just do a bit work. the works is setup new pc to user and changing the old pc to new pc, send and testing the new adapter to the user .

Week 1

My working time is from 830am to 6pm...since its my 1st day..i was kinda excited..so i woke up around 5.30am..got ready n left home at 6.30am...i go work with my parents..After send my mom at her office, my dad send me at my office.. i already at the lobby of my office around 8am..

Day 4

-In the morning, my trainer Mr.Terence tell me that I have to tranfer from Service Desk to Technical Support.*horeyyy!=)

ps: i think technical support is better than helpdesk because im weak in communication..=)
Hopefully,nothing difficult lah..haha..
